Fight Unemployment. Start your Internet Business!

Its Friday morning and you are sitting down at a local Star Bucks shop you open the newspaper and you see something like this:
The unemployment rate in the United States has hit a 26-year high after another
half a million jobs were lost last month.

The labor department said the jobless rate jumped to 8.9% in April from 8.5% the previous month, marking the highest level since September 1983. US employers cut 539,000 jobs in April, the smallest number since October.

The figure was better than the 590,000 decline expected by economists, spurring hopes that the worst might be over. "It's all going to add to the conviction that the economy is approaching bottom," said Pierre Ellis of Decision Economics in New York. source: The Guardian
Can you tell me how you would feel? Most of us will feel, “Oh my god I may be part of that number by next month!”

The unemployment rate has been on the rise for months now, not even the government can stop it. I mean sure they are doing everything they can to help the unemployed. They have provided emergency funds; in some areas, they have released insurance claims for the unemployed.

The question is, “How long is it going to be like this?”

The government will eventually run out of emergency funds for the unemployed, so what happens then? That is some serious thought we have to ponder on. We have to think and plan before the worse comes to us.

Today, I have the solution to this problem. It is actually very simple, and that is START YOUR OWN INTERNET BUSINESS. Some of you will probably think it is not a good idea to start a business online or otherwise at a time like this. Nevertheless, let me point out three good reasons why you should consider starting an online business.

1. Starting up is cheap. As compared to the traditional type of business, were you must spend at least a couple of thousand dollars, starting an internet business can be established even if you are in a tight budget.

Conventional businesses require you to buy pieces of furniture (table, chairs, etc.), office supplies are needed, stock and inventory, and service provisions. In short, not only will it take a lot of work, it will also require a lot of cash from your end.

Let us take a step back and look at an Internet business. All you need to take care of are web address domains, online hosting, auto responders, just to name a few. The cost is minimal as compared to the former type of business.

2. No advertising boundaries. Look at the chart I have posted, this is just an example of much companies spend on advertising alone. The beauty of an Internet business is that you do not have to spend a lot of money on advertising, it is actually free sometimes.

Online marketers have a variety of tools to choose from which is not available to conventional retailers. These tools help target specific customer groups, you can also get statistics, and of course you can get all the exposure that you want for your product. Reaching global audience is easy when you have an online business.

3. Online spending is on the rise. Given the fact that the economy is in a bad shape right now, online spending is still strong. Why? For the simple fact that most Internet sales are untaxed. You can sign in at eBay right now and purchase something you like, and by tomorrow it will be delivered to you. How convenient is that!

To conclude this article, an Online business is something that is hard to turndown. Even if we are in a middle of recession the growth of Online businesses cannot be stopped. Moreover, the Internet is a huge place, and there would always be customers on the lookout for something new. Be the one to provide these customers with what they need.
