Improve Online Sales

No eCommerce company in existence would ever say they have “enough” sales. There will always be another deal to close and another deal to make. So how can we attract more customers to buy from your online store? Here are some simple tips you can follow:

1. Make it simple. The reason why people shop online is that it is not as tiring as shopping in a mall. So make it as simple as possible. One way of losing a potential customer is to make the shopping cart overly long with too many unnecessary fields. Like seriously do you need to ask the customer’s email address twice?

It is important that a shopping cart is easy to use. An ideal shopping cart should contain everything, which a general user demands or desires. In addition, it needs to be fast and simple to operate; saving users' time and meet their needs and demands.

2. Customer communication. One of the best ways to make sure a visitor completes the process of purchasing is to offer live support. Chat support is not just there to handle customer complaints; it can also help improve sales.

There might be times that your product description and information is not complete or is not clear, so customers will naturally have questions about it. Therefore, if customers wonder about something but are not able to get the answers they are looking for right away, they will navigate away from your site without buying.

3. Reviews and testimonials. This is possible by posting testimonials from people who bought and tried the product. It would be even better if you try it out yourself. Having a firsthand feel of the product that you are selling is good because you would be able to write about the experience yourself. Always remember customers are more likely to buy a product if they see it actually working for someone else.

4. Be unique, more is good. Give customers a reason why they should buy from you. Let us face it, there are other online stores offering the same things you sell. How can you make visitors buy from you and not from the competitor? By offering them more!

Provide customers with an excellent shopping experience that they cannot get elsewhere. Provide them security, so they will feel safe buying from your online store.

An Opportunity Amidst Recession

We have seen huge changes in the economy since the beginning of last year. None of these changes are worthy of a celebration. We’ve seen people loosing their homes, we’ve seen people loosing their jobs, and most especially we’ve seen kids who have to stop school because it’s getting expensive. All of which can be attributed to the economic crisis the world is facing. Anywhere you go the effect of this predicament is evident.

Huge changes have indeed taken place over the past couple of months. Most of these changes are not so good. However, even in this current situation there is still one bright spot, and that is the growth of Online Businesses.

As indicated on the graph online spending has been rising steadily since the beginning of 2000. Traditional businesses have turned their attention to marketing their businesses online after they have realized how cheap it is. A strong presence online can help companies (big or small) grow their business even in the current global financial crisis.

So if there is growth in online spending, isn’t that a sign for us to START OUR OWN INTERNET BUSINESS too? Now is the time to get out there and earn something from the internet. Here are some tips to get you going.

1. HOT STUFF. There are millions of products that you can sell online. However you need not sell of them right? Choose a product that interests YOU. As an entrepreneur, the product / service that you will promote online should be something you know about.

After identifying the product that you want to sell online check if there is a market for it. Identifying your niche market is important. The market niche is a portion of the market that you will target as an entrepreneur. A business who targets a niche market, is addressing the needs for a product or service that is not provided by others. This group of individuals will be your biggest opportunity.

2. BUY IT! BUY IT! BUY IT! Your website should be all about this. From the design to the words that you use. It should be dripping with “BUY IT!” vibe.

You have 2 choices when it comes to website. Build your own or hire a professional to do it for you. There are plenty of videos online to help you out with the basics if ever you do not know how to build a website. I have also done an article about website basics.

If you plan to put up your own website you have to make sure that it looks professional and not something that was crammed. No one would take the time to teach themselves how to navigate through your website. So, making sure that it is user friendly is a big help to attract people to your website.

The site that you will put up should contain pertinent and relevant information about the product/ service that you market. Including important information about the product/ service makes you a dependable endorser.

3. DRIVE TRAFFIC TO YOUR SITE. After publishing your website you have to think of ways to tell people about it. In short you need to lure people to it. The more visitors your site gets the higher the chances of closing a sale.

Keyword importance

Search engines such as Google always read and index text. Take note text. Say for example you are advertising about BUTTERFLIES. Naturally you will place pictures of butterflies on your page. It is important that you label your pictures correctly. Look at the picture to your left to get a better understanding of what I mean. In doing so, you will improve your page ranking in various search engine result pages.

Selecting keyword or keyword phrases are essential to the success of your website. We are talking about the words people type on Google, Yahoo, or MSN when they are looking for something. So if you get to choose the right keyword there is a big chance that you will drive traffic to your site, and not just any traffic, it is RELEVANT TRAFFIC.

When you write an article, try to keep the article search able for a particular keyword. Use this keyword more than once in your article. When bots crawl on your page, judging from the density of the keyword, it will determine that your page is useful for that particular keyword.

Stuffing is important but do not go overboard. If your article
contains 100 words, try to use your selected keyword 5 times. That's 5% of the article length. If you stuff your article with your keyword, the bots will realize you are spamming your post with that particular keyword. There is a penalty for such. So keep it between 3-5% of the article length.

Fight Unemployment. Start your Internet Business!

Its Friday morning and you are sitting down at a local Star Bucks shop you open the newspaper and you see something like this:
The unemployment rate in the United States has hit a 26-year high after another
half a million jobs were lost last month.

The labor department said the jobless rate jumped to 8.9% in April from 8.5% the previous month, marking the highest level since September 1983. US employers cut 539,000 jobs in April, the smallest number since October.

The figure was better than the 590,000 decline expected by economists, spurring hopes that the worst might be over. "It's all going to add to the conviction that the economy is approaching bottom," said Pierre Ellis of Decision Economics in New York. source: The Guardian
Can you tell me how you would feel? Most of us will feel, “Oh my god I may be part of that number by next month!”

The unemployment rate has been on the rise for months now, not even the government can stop it. I mean sure they are doing everything they can to help the unemployed. They have provided emergency funds; in some areas, they have released insurance claims for the unemployed.

The question is, “How long is it going to be like this?”

The government will eventually run out of emergency funds for the unemployed, so what happens then? That is some serious thought we have to ponder on. We have to think and plan before the worse comes to us.

Today, I have the solution to this problem. It is actually very simple, and that is START YOUR OWN INTERNET BUSINESS. Some of you will probably think it is not a good idea to start a business online or otherwise at a time like this. Nevertheless, let me point out three good reasons why you should consider starting an online business.

1. Starting up is cheap. As compared to the traditional type of business, were you must spend at least a couple of thousand dollars, starting an internet business can be established even if you are in a tight budget.

Conventional businesses require you to buy pieces of furniture (table, chairs, etc.), office supplies are needed, stock and inventory, and service provisions. In short, not only will it take a lot of work, it will also require a lot of cash from your end.

Let us take a step back and look at an Internet business. All you need to take care of are web address domains, online hosting, auto responders, just to name a few. The cost is minimal as compared to the former type of business.

2. No advertising boundaries. Look at the chart I have posted, this is just an example of much companies spend on advertising alone. The beauty of an Internet business is that you do not have to spend a lot of money on advertising, it is actually free sometimes.

Online marketers have a variety of tools to choose from which is not available to conventional retailers. These tools help target specific customer groups, you can also get statistics, and of course you can get all the exposure that you want for your product. Reaching global audience is easy when you have an online business.

3. Online spending is on the rise. Given the fact that the economy is in a bad shape right now, online spending is still strong. Why? For the simple fact that most Internet sales are untaxed. You can sign in at eBay right now and purchase something you like, and by tomorrow it will be delivered to you. How convenient is that!

To conclude this article, an Online business is something that is hard to turndown. Even if we are in a middle of recession the growth of Online businesses cannot be stopped. Moreover, the Internet is a huge place, and there would always be customers on the lookout for something new. Be the one to provide these customers with what they need.

Internet Marketing Training

Internet Marketing Training is important to all online businesses. I consider this as a powerful tool if you use it correctly. The success of your online business depends on the correct Internet Marketing Training. You will be able to generate large sum of money by just working at home.

1. Selecting the right course. Mentors are responsible for online training. Make sure that you are under the right mentor. It is crucial that you check on his credentials. Get the answers for the following questions:
- How long have they been training people?
- Are the testimonials authentic? (try to contact the people who have given their testimonials)
- What methods of teaching does the mentor use?

2. Debunk the myth of “easy money.” Nothing is gained the easy way. Do not get caught up in those easy money schemes that you see. Be realistic, if you want to become an online entrepreneur you need to put your back into it. Putting up an online business is almost the same as setting up an offline business. It will take a lot of hard work and commitment over a long period of time.

Do not expect instant results, it will take months, even years until you see visible results.

3. Don’t get lost. Online business success is all about the right clicks. A few correct clicks will get you where you want to be, while incorrect clicks will suck you up and eat your time. An important and fundamental part of Internet Marketing program is – locating yourself constantly. If you are occupied but going nowhere then you are obviously lost.

4. Get the basics. Before moving on to advance training, make sure that you were able to master the fundamental stuff first. Skipping some important steps may lead to failure. Master the skills of identifying target audience, selecting the right keywords, etc before moving up the ladder.

5. Learning new things. Of course, we don’t want to be doing the basics forever, right? There would come a time that you will need to move on to newer, more sophisticated tools. Adaptability to the internet’s constant change is important.

These tips are really easy to look at, but it is way complex than that. Many online businesses failed because they missed on something. Failure can cost you a lot of money. So follow these steps to ensure yourself success in the Internet Marketing training.

Laid-off? Start your Online Business today!

What is your greatest fear in life? We all have different fears in life, some fear the lost of a loved one, some fear that they will grow old alone; others fear that they won’t achieve their plans in life. The list will go on and on I am sure of that. Also, I am sure that most of us fear this:BEING POOR.

Let us face it that the things I have mentioned above are possible, especially becoming poor. I have read an article earlier today wherein this situation is seen. Here is an excerpt:

Mr. Araya, 38 years old, lost his job in 2007 as a crude oil trader in the New York Mercantile Exchange. After visiting dozens of headhunters with no luck, he applied in August 2008 to be a host at the Palm to support his wife, two young daughters and mortgage payments. His salary has plunged from $200,000 to $25,000.

If the financial crisis was the flood, then the Arayas are one of the families standing in the stagnant waters left behind. Some former Wall Street employees, highly trained and accustomed to comfortable salaries, are having trouble translating their specialized skills to other fields that pay well, and instead find themselves forced to accept low-wage work. Now, Mr. Araya is on the brink of losing it all and is doubtful that he will ever return to Wall Street.

Source: Yahoo Financial

Mr. Araya’s story is just one out of a thousand unfortunate stories. The economic situation has been taking a toll on the citizens. Lay-off these days are quite normal, but all the same, it is still sad.

Some will say, “Don’t loose hope, you should get back on your feet and start looking for a job.” That is a good plan, find a job right away. However let us be realistic here, how many people have been laid –off this year, and how many jobs are offered?

ANSWER: Many were laid-off, not enough jobs are offered.

Reality check, not only are there limited jobs offered, the competition is pretty stiff. Say for example you’re a 35-year-old dude who lost his job and you are competing against someone younger and more vibrant, who do you think they’ll choose?

Companies will go for the younger employee of course. For one they will pay this new employee less than what you’ll demand. So what are you going to do? Look for another job opening?

Why not start your own Online Business.

Now, the pessimists out there I know will think this is not a good time to start a business. We need to think wisely before we spend our money. Investment in a time like this is not advisable, as some would say.

As an aspiring entrepreneur, your biggest challenge is not knowing where to start. You will probably think, it will not work because you do not have a website, you do not have a product to sell, and you have not identified your target market.

You will find plenty of techniques and strategies in the internet on how you should start your online business, that alone is overwhelming. Do not let this scare you, and stop you from getting what you want. The important thing is, JUST GET STARTED. True that you might be doing the wrong things right now, such as selling the wrong product in the wrong market, however the learning process starts from there. Everyone who has achieved success has gone through failure first. What’s important is that you learn from it.

Focus. Keep the momentum up, and always think of your goal. Work towards your goal, and in time everything you have done will pay-off.

Listen. Once you have launched your internet business and you have your website up and running, it is important to listen to customer’s comments and recommendations. These people are a good source of information. Sure, some of them will criticize you or your product, but you should not take that the wrong way. They are criticizing you because they want you to improve your products / services. Not only will you learn from them about what people are looking for you can also earn lifelong customers, and even friends.

Once you decide that you want to SUCCEED, do everything, and work hard towards your goal. You’ll eventually get your reward in the end.

For those people who got laid-off, do not lose hope. There is always a better opportunity for you out there. And yes, starting your Online business is just the thing to get into right now.

Social Media Marketing

A business owner’s main goal is to gain profit from the sale of his goods / services. Off line businesses, promote their products and services through a variety of channels. They can use television, radio, and print to promote.

Now, for online business entrepreneurs utilize social networks to promote their product. It is an effective tool to attract the target market towards an Internet business.

Social media marketing is the process wherein a site or business is promoted. So why is social media marketing important? Why should we even bother with social media if there are others ways to promote your site or business? Here are some reasons why social media is important:
  • Exposure. Your site will be exposed to a large number of people in a spontaneous fashion.
  • Awareness. Using social media is the fastest and easiest way to build awareness amongst your target market.
  • Low cost. As compared to traditional marketing practice, social media is much cheaper. If you are doing the marketing by yourself, then it is without a doubt cheap. You would only have to invest your time to get the results you want.
  • Quick turnaround. If you hit the front page of a networking site, news or social video, there is a big possibility you will incur a huge traffic to your website. This takes your business to a different level. Do not let that exposure go to waste, make the most out of it by keeping things interesting.
Social media marketing is a great way of informing, telling the world of the products that you offer.

Like with all other things, if social media marketing is done correctly, you will reap its benefits soon enough. Spreading awareness is a big help in growing your business.
